When they were clamouring for food and water. Later God looked and saw them and later brought manna from heaven with strict instructions on how they would consume it. The instructions of God for them are as follows:
1. Each household should gather as much as they needed.Pick up two quarts for each person. For those that gather two quarts for each person , they get just enough.Though gathering a little get enough, but for those that gathered more, had nothing left over.
2. They were instructed not to keep it for the next day because, there was enough provision of God for each day. Those who kept some for the next day had its portion full.of maggots and produced terrible smell.
3. On the sixth day there was twice as much as usual on the ground. Four quarts was directed to be picked for a person instead of two. The extra was for the consumption on the sabbath day, the day of rest.
I want to make an assertion here that this is purely the principles of God guidiance and protect us against waste and unfrutful ventures. The Bible says in Hosea 4:6- My people perish for lack of knowledge. This is a typicsl knowledge of God passed onto us to pacify , monitor and foster a very good father son relationship between man and God.But unfortunately , we don't seem to keep it right and we don't intend to keep it right because of the flesh that is taking a upper hand in us.
I always laugh and wonder what is really happening when i hear people saying in the news that our leaders in government circle purported to be our servant having billions of dollars in their bank acounts. Some are having fleet of cars and flying mobilities gulping billions of dollars as maintainance while salaries of the people and workers are not paid.
